Chapter 29: The house deal.

mist around neithstone Neithstone Reach, surely I know that place. It was a quiet village right in the heart of the wolflands sheltered from the north east by a small cliff. The site is simply picturesque with the frequent foggy mist that happens to form around the area in calm clear days.

As soon as I heard about the news, I dropped by like a lightning bolt zapping through clear skies. There I discovered that Koreander's house was in fact a tiny cottage right at the entrance of the village. The cottage looked just right in my eyes and I soon fell in love with the place. Somehow, and having no idea how, I had to own this magical place. It was mine by right and I was already seeing my name all over the place. I checked the neighbours but I knew no one of them so off I went back to Vellenyth to count my savings.

One hundred and sixty thousand gold coins was the toll, but I was not willing to go bankrupt with the purchase. I needed money to live and pay the house taxes if I manage to buy the property. Koreander was asking for two hundred and twenty thousand for it because of the central location and the safe it had fitted! A safe increase property value by a lot because you can store stuff inside there. It is possible to live inside the house and have refreshments and regear if you have a safe. Now that I knew about the safe, I did want it even more. So I had to dig up my bank and check for any assets I may have saved over time.

cottage from the outside To my surprise I did have assets laying around. I made a short list of all the stuff I could add up upon an agreed price and contacted Koreander quickly so I secure the first contact. Koreander was very happy that a member of the family was interested and he even offered me a better bargain, straight two hundred thousand for a special customer. We agreed on the gold coins and the assets and before I knew it, I was now the proud owner of a cottage in the best village of Agon. Part payment for the cottage were 37 apples because apparently, Mr. Stoner likes to keep the doctor at bay!

The cottage is not really a house, but rather a single room with a porch. Apart from the safe the cottage is decorated with a niffleheim tapestry and there is a golden slot machine installed as well. I refrained from using the slot machine that day though, as I was a bit broke and did not want to risk more. In the evening I made the cottage door and rushed to Neithstone reach to fit it in place. Now I could keep out unwanted visitors and let in only my friends. That night I slept safe and sound, in my own soft bed with a mounted bear head decorating the room.
